How to Share Your Airbnb & VRBO Calendar
with Cleaners Without Exposing Guest Info
Last updated: 2026-03-18
Airbnb and VRBO iCal export URLs contain guest names, reservation codes, and booking details. Sharing these directly with cleaning crews or property managers exposes private guest information. SafeCal filters out guest details and merges multiple platform calendars into one clean URL that only shows "Reserved" or "Available" — with no guest data visible.
What's in an Airbnb iCal export?
- Guest name — Full name of the guest who booked
- Reservation code — Airbnb confirmation number
- Check-in/check-out dates
- Phone number (in some cases)
- Number of guests and special requests
Why this matters
Sharing raw guest data with third parties (cleaners, co-hosts, maintenance staff) may violate Airbnb's terms of service and privacy regulations. In many jurisdictions, sharing personal data without consent raises legal concerns.
How to set up SafeCal for vacation rentals
- Export iCal URLs: Airbnb → Calendar → Export Calendar; VRBO → Calendar → iCal link; Booking.com → Calendar → Export
- Add to SafeCal as input sources — add all platforms for each property
- Set "Hide All" filter — replaces everything with "Reserved"
- Share the merged URL with your cleaning crew — they see only which dates are booked
Multiple properties?
Create one SafeCal feed per property. Each feed can merge calendars from multiple platforms (Airbnb + VRBO + direct bookings) for that specific property. Share each property's URL with the relevant cleaning team.

Is it safe to share my Airbnb calendar URL directly with cleaners?
Not recommended. Airbnb's iCal export contains guest names, reservation codes, and potentially phone numbers. Use SafeCal's 'Hide All' filter to share only reservation dates without any guest information.
Can I merge Airbnb and VRBO calendars into one URL?
Yes. Add both iCal export URLs to SafeCal as input sources. The merged output URL shows all reservations from both platforms in one calendar.
Does this work with Booking.com and direct bookings too?
Yes. Any calendar that provides an ICS/iCal URL can be added as a source. This includes Booking.com, VRBO, Airbnb, Google Calendar (for direct bookings), and more.
